The most expansive pediatric construction project in history is happening now at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The centerpeice of the expansion project is the construction of a new, 12-story, 700,000-square-foot main hospital building that will serve patients from Parsons to Pittsburgh and Alabama to Australia. An additional six acres of green space will enhance the patient's experience, the hospital's campus and the overall community.

When Cars Fly... In early April, a specially designed and donated Honda Civic was delivered to the hospital and lifted up to the 9th floor. The car will be a main feature in the new Clinical Therapy Department area. The hoisting of the car was one of the last lifts for our tower cranes on site. Watch the delivery of this awesome car » |

Excavation of Underground Visitor Garage Begins Excavation has begun for our new underground visitor’s garage, located in front of the new main hospital. Once complete, the garage will connect to the hospital by two lower level tunnels creating a safe and easy walk for patients, families and visitors who no longer have to battle inclement weather. Numerous dump trucks are arriving on a daily basis to haul the over 100,000 cubic yards of dirt off the site. Learn more about this project » |
Work continues at a fast pace inside the main hospital building. Walls are being constructed, piping and wiring continues and numerous other systems are beinginstalled. Plus, roofing is nearly complete over the new Emergency Department on the north-west portion of the building. This department will be double the size of the existing ED--one more way we will improve the care given at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
