The City of Columbus is beginning a major road construction project that will ultimately improve the flow of traffic around campus. Construction on Livingston Avenue will span from Ninth Street east to Ohio Avenue and construction on Parsons Avenue will span from Jackson Street to Kennedy Drive. The improvements will include full-depth pavement replacement and widening, construction of the left-turn lanes, installation of traffic medians, updated signals, improved street lighting, utility relocation and sidewalk widening as well complaint curb ramps.
As of July 6, the north half of Livingston Avenue will be closed. Traffic on the remaining half of Livingston Avenue is limited to one lane in each direction from Ninth Street to South Ohio Avenue. Parsons Avenue is also limited to one lane in each direction between Mooberry Street and Jackson Street. There are various closures of side streets and turning restrictions in some areas. Drivers are still able to access businesses and homes in the area. Pedestrian traffic is still continuing but with some restrictions. These restrictions will last until December of 2010, weather permitting.
COTA bus stops in the area will change as the project progresses. Check with COTA for the bus stop information.- http://www.cota.com
